The Defence Club Federation

For more than 60 years, the Defence Clubs Federation has been recognised for its actions in favour of sport and culture within the Defence community, extending to the civilian society. Today, 140,000 members share their passions through almost 300 activities in 430 clubs in France and abroad.

A major partner of the French Armed Forces Ministry and the French sports movement

As a key player in the implementation of the sports, cultural, social and Army-Nation policies of the Armed Forces Ministry, the Defence Club Federation and its clubs rely on a strong partnership whose raison d'être is to promote individual fulfilment and cohesion within the Defence community through the practice of activities contributing to the development of physical and human qualities. The Defence Club Federation allows people to take part in physical or sporting activities that contribute to their well-being and health as part of primary prevention or improvement of the health of people suffering from chronic illnesses. Currently, about ten Defence Club Federation offer this type of activities under the responsibility of an instructor specialising in "APA" (adapted physical activity) or "health sport". The Defence Club Federation is also involved in the sports policy of the Armed Forces Ministry through the "Sport 2025" plan, of which it is a member of the steering committee under the authority of the Joint Staff. The Defence Clubs Federation is also committed to supporting disabled sport. 137 clubs from the Defence Club Federation offer activities for people with disabilities including two specifically dedicated to them: the sports club of the National Invalide Institution and the association "Beyond our disabilities” ".

Nearly 1,227 people with disabilities are members of clubs from the Defence Club Federation.

Member of the French National Olympic and Sports Committee

The Defence Club Federation is a member of the French National Olympic and Sports Committee. As a multi-sport federation, it helps promote sports for all, from leisure to competition by forging partnerships with sports federations to aim for excellence in each discipline. It is accredited by the Ministry of Sports with which it participates in the implementation of various public policies (feminization, integration, disability, health through sport, diversity, co-education).

On the road to the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games

The Defence Club Federation contributes to the legacy of the Games to change the daily lives of French people through sports and commitment so that the Olympic and Paralympic adventure benefits as many people as possible. As such, since 2021, it has the "Land of the 2024 Games" label in partnership with the Organising Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games. As such, it will take part in the celebration of the Games and will be present on 6th and 7th August 2023 at Club France in the Parc de la Villette in Paris. It will offer an introduction to laser pistol shooting on zoned and illuminated targets, a timed obstacle course with laser rifle and laser pistol shooting, and a Paralympic sport with an introduction to wheelchair basketball.

Since January 2023, seventy volunteers from the Defence Club Federation have also helped organise the Paris Olympic Games.
