The training exercise for military spatial operations

SparteX 2026's aims are :

  • To train C2’s structure and the space commands units for military space operations (OSM).
  • To train with other military forces for operations in a multi-domain environment that integrates OSM.
  • To further integrate our external partners in military space operations processes and procedures.
  • Enhance cooperation and interoperability with international partners.
  • Enhance synergy with the French space agency (CNES) and strengthen relations with industrial partner on OSM.

Based on a complex and realistic simulated scenario

This exercise is based on credibility and is representative of the complexity of the world in which we operate, in order to train participants with :

  • A geopolitical scenario inspired by current and future threats.
  • A simulated space environment with 4,000 space objects and 29 detection and tracking sensors.
  • 28 space events to confront 10 different threat types covering the full spectrum of spatial warfare.
  • A technical platform comprising the full range of civilian and military systems.

Integrated to the multi-branch exercise on a large scale ORION 26

SparteX 2026 includes participants from a wide range of backgrounds:

  • The units of the CDE
  • The representatives of differents zones of conflict Army, Air Force, Marines that are integrated in the chain of command of ORION.
  • The cyber comman, the French Directorate for Military Intelligence (DRM), Digital Defense Commissariat (CND).
  • The French space agency (CNES), the Nato Space Center of Excellence (COE) and the French aerospacelab (ONERA).
  • 6 industrial partners.
  • 12 foreign partners.

Un opérateur spatial à poste AsterX 2025 Le floor d'AsterX

Un opérateur spatial en treillis, de dos, travaille sur son ordinateur. Au premier plan, on aperçoit des écrans sur lesquels des cartes et orbites apparaissent. Tandis qu'à l'arrière-plan un écran géant projette des informations sur une carte du monde.
