SparteX 2026 : first week of exercise !
SparteX is tactical and operational training for all the French Space Command units, enabling them to continue qualifying for the military space operations with institutional, industrial and foreign partners.
Use of responsive launch capability
Following the neutralisation of a French reconnaissance satellite by an enemy laser strike, France responded with exemplary speed. It mobilised its industrial capabilities to implement a reactive launch system enabling the emergency launch of two replacement satellites to restore, and even strengthen, its operational imaging capabilities. Joint operations can therefore continue with optimal and sovereign space support, a real factor in operational superiority. This event illustrates France's resilience and responsiveness in the face of future attacks. Thanks to this reactive launch capability, it could just as easily deploy resources in space to strengthen its defence in orbit.
Defence of telecommunications satellites
Faced with an increase in aggressive enemy actions aimed at disrupting satellite telecommunications essential to joint operations conducted under Orion, France is deploying its space capabilities. In response to this defensive manoeuvre, the enemy force is reacting by preparing an action against French military telecommunications satellites. Alerted to this threat, France decided to take pre-emptive action by preparing a targeted counter-offensive that could neutralise it before it materialised. This action demonstrates France's determination to defend its space interests and respond firmly to any aggression.
