DGSE’s general missions officialised in Article D-3126-1 to D-3126-4 of the Defence Code specifying that the DGSE notably “has for mission, for the benefit of the Government and in close collaboration with the other organisations involved, to collect and process intelligence regarding France’s security, but also to detect and disrupt outside France’s national territory, spying activities against French interests in order to prevent consequences”.
« To carry out its missions, the DGSE is also in charge of establishing necessary relationships with other Services or Organisations involved, and, in the scope of its prerogatives, to take any action entrusted by the Government and communicate intelligence reports.
