In the framework of its attributions evoked in the White Paper for Defense and National Security of 2008, the DAS is responsible for the coherence of the human and financial resources necessary for the strategic function" Knowledge and Anticipation ". As such, DAS supports the independent strategic thinking when led by french or foreign academic institutions or research institutes.
In its mission of support for strategic researches as in its foresight works, the DAS maintains exchanges with its natural partners, within the ministry as in a interministerial way.
