France faced with developments in the international and strategic context

In accordance with the mandate received from the President of the Republic, the Secrétariat général de la défense et de la sécurité nationale (SGDSN) has held inter-ministerial discussions on the developments in the strategic context since 2008 and the resulting structural issues for France's defence and security in the years up to 2020. This work, carried out with the government departments concerned and contributions from several French and foreign experts, has now been completed.

A document entitled "France faced with developments in the international and strategic context" has now been published and put on-line on the SGDSN site. Download this publication (pdf, 79 pages, 1,8Mo) 

The purpose of this document is to prepare for the updating of the White Paper on national defence and security, planned for the second half of 2012.
