Direction générale de l'armement
Laurent Collet-Billon has been appointed chief executive of the "Délégation Générale pour l'Armement" (DGA) by the French Cabinet on July 28, 2008. He succeeds François Lureau, who has been chief executive since February 2004.
From July 2006, Laurent Collet-Billon was Adviser to the Alcatel-Lucent Chairman and CEO for defence and security matters. He previously held major responsibilities within DGA, where he was deputy delegate and weapon systems' Director between 2001 and 2006. During that time, he was also French representative for the supervisory board of the Organisation for Joint Armament Cooperation (OCCAr).
General engineer in the armament and graduate of the "Ecole nationale supérieure de l'aéronautique et de l'espace", Laurent Collet-Billon was born in 1950.
